Windows 8, the next major release of Microsoft Windows operating systems series has much new features. Some of them are, it's cloud based backup (cloud computing) feature, online application store called, "Windows App Store" and it's biometric feature. It has another new feature which it lets you add videos as your user account picture, as some online articles and images revealed.
A new feature of this all new operating system is cloud computing, as mentioned previously, this system has much cloud support. All of your backups are done connecting to Microsoft's cloud servers. As Microsoft already allows cloud usage of Microsoft's Office package, called "Office 365" this feature could be an extension of it to their Windows operating system. Much more direct uploads like images and videos are supported in this new operating system. As I mentioned above, this new system has no software coming on discs. They all are web based. You've to buy them from Microsoft's cloud application store. Another thing that some articles say that Windows 8's user accounts are connected with Windows Live accounts. So, when you log in, you can log in remotely to your Windows Live account too from your computer. Here, when you create office documents, they're stored on the Microsoft's could servers. It's also reported that Microsoft is encouraging cloud computing also for security concerns. That means to prevent software piracy. Your operating system's kernel is synced online with Microsoft's
Another feature that you maybe interested is biometric feature on Windows 8. It's said that Windows 7 already supports fingerprint based biometric identification. But, this is also said to be in the beta version. The new Windows 8 adds a new type of biometric technology called, biometric facial recognition. That means, when you log in to Windows 8, you can set to identify your face to authorize your log in. Windows 7 already support this feature with fingerprint recognition.
Windows 8 also said to allow videos to be used as user account pictures. That means, you can set a video as your user account picture (also said an animated user account picture). Also, your user account picture or animation is displayed on the system tray.
